First Shake-n-Skate goes Dec. 22

The City of Guelph is inviting people to an evening of “beats and blades” this Saturday at Market Square.
The city has teamed up with to present a series of Shake-n-Skate events, featuring electronic music by local DJs and free skating on the outdoor rink.
“We’re all about getting people out to meet other like-minded individuals, who just want to have fun trying something different,” said organizer Barry Rooke in a news release. There will be three music-fueled skating parties in Guelph, starting Dec. 22 from 6 to 10 p.m.
This Saturday’s event will feature a holiday theme and will have DJs Rohan G, The Shi King and DJ Ampz spinning – respectively – house, funk and “groovybeats.”
Next is a ladies-night event on Jan. 12 with Stereo Mada, Marina Featherstone and Aria K, and CFRU Day on Feb. 9 with Nicky Dread, DJ Vibe and DJ Ampz.
