First-time novelist at Guelph bookstore

A first-time novelist will make an appearance at The Bookshelf in Guelph on Saturday Aug. 23.

Marissa Stapley, the author of Mating For Life, will be at the bookstore at 1 p.m.

Her first novel has “received excellent national reviews and focuses on a free-spirited 60-year-old mother and her three daughters, all of whom are from different fathers,” a news release said.

“The characters are smart and engaging and we join them as they navigate their very complex relationships.”

Stapley, who began her writing career as a magazine and newspaper writer, “is not ashamed to be labelled a woman’s writer and wanted to write a book about what it takes to love a person all of your life,” the release said.
