Grant workshop for musicians

Musicians can learn how to apply for Ontario Arts Council grants to help them create and produce their original music at a free workshop on Thursday Oct. 18.

The workshop by Michael Murray, the arts council’s popular-music officer, will focus on preparing grants in the popular-music stream. This includes folk, roots, country, hip hop, soul, R&B, jazz, blues, rock and pop music, as well as traditional and contemporary music from Canada and across the world, a news release said.

The Guelph Arts Council is hosting the 6:30-8:30 p.m. workshop at the public library on Norfolk Street. Pre-registration is requested by calling 519-836-3280 or by going to: guelpharts.ca/guelphartscouncil.
