Guelph native has cello solo

Cellist Catherine Anderson, a Guelph native who joined the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony in 2007, will perform solo during a concert at Harcourt Memorial United Church on Friday.
The 8 p.m. Nov. 23 show, part of the orchestra’s Baroque & Beyond series, features music by Boccherini and Handel and is conducted by the orchestra’s assistant conductor, Evan Mitchell.
Anderson, who holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master of Music degree from Yale, will perform Boccherini’s Cello Concerto, a news release said.
As well as being a member of KWS, Anderson is a member of the Bremen String Quartet along with some other KWS members, the release said.
Tickets can be purchased online at kwsymphony.ca or by calling 519-745-4711. There’s a special price for students.
