Hiking club out at Preservation Park

The Guelph Hiking Trail Club is all set for its next hike in its series of free kids’ hikes.
The club will take to the trail in Preservation Park on Feb. 19 at 1 p.m. The event will feature a “tortoise and hare” hike, splitting into two groups to go at one pace for shorter legs and a faster pace and longer distance for longer legs, a news release said.
All children must be accompanied by an adult on the hike, and pets are not welcome, it said. People are reminded to dress for the weather and bring a mug for hot chocolate and cookies after the hike.
Hikers are asked to register in advance by contacting Kathy at 519-836-9147 or ksomersghtc@gmail.com.
