Hillside stages two events

The Hillside Festival is presenting two upcoming concerts, including a singer at the River Run Centre on March 21 and a spoken word artist at a downtown restaurant on April 5.
The 8 p.m. show next Wednesday in the River Run’s Co-operators Hall features a 23-year-old female musician  who performs under the stage name Cold Specks.
The Etobicoke native’s music is described as “steeped in the musical traditions of the Deep South.”
Spoken word act Shane Koyczan & The Short Story Long, a big attraction at a couple of recent Hillside summer festivals, performs on Thursday April 5 at 8:30 p.m. at the Red Papaya restaurant in Old Quebec Street.
