K-W Symphony Baroque program wraps up on Friday

The Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony showcases strings, wind and brass in the final “Baroque & Beyond Series” concert of the season on Friday May 9 at Harcourt Memorial United Church.
The 8 p.m. show called Glorious Gran Partita features work by Mozart, Haydn and Gabrieli. It includes Mozart’s Gran Partita, written for 12 wind instruments and a string bass, a news release said.
The orchestra’s assistant conductor, Evan Mitchell, will lead the orchestra for the last time. He’s taking the position of music director with the Kingston Symphony starting in September.
Tickets can be bought online at kwsymphony.ca or by calling 888-745-4717.
