Local films the focus

Six films made by members of the Ed Video Media Arts Centre have been picked for screening as part of a four-day film festival that runs through the weekend in Kitchener.
It’s the fifth year for the Local Focus Film Festival, which starts today (Nov. 22) and ends Nov. 25. Organized by the Multicultural Cinema Club, it presents works made by filmmakers in the Grand River watershed, a news release said.
Vaughn Barclay’s film Heart at Night: David Earle in Guelph, which features the award-winning choreographer and his work at his Guelph-based studio, is one of the films made by Ed Video members. It will be screened Friday.
Also being shown are films by Ed Video members Alberta Nye, Joan Hug-Valeriote, Zach Ramelan, Eliza Crosland and Craig Hennessey.
