There will be free comedy acts all over the downtown on Saturday Oct. 13 as a result of changes this year to the third annual Guelph Comedy Festival.
Thanks to the Downtown Guelph Business Association and other sponsors, the festival will be free this year, a news release said. It also said the festival has moved into the downtown core this year and will go from venue to venue over the course of the day and evening.
It will start in the afternoon at the Ed Video Gallery, 40 Baker St., for workshops. Then it will move in the evening to Magnolia Café, the Woolwich Arrow Pub, the Penny Whistle Pub, the Baker Street Station and then back to the Ed Video gallery for a late-night sketch and improv session, the release said. “The festival continues its commitment to bringing many facets of comedy to Guelph, including stand-up acts, sketch and improv performances,” it said. “Comic talents include Desiree Lavoy, Garrett Jamieson, Julia Bruce, Kristeen von Hagen, Derek Seguin, Rob Bebenek, BOOM Comedy and more.”
Emcees for the evening include Craig Norris, Andrew Seagram and Carlo Adamo. Each location has scheduled times for performances. For more information and the full schedule, go to www.edvideo.org.
