Rainbow Chorus takes look at bright side

The Rainbow Chorus of Waterloo-Wellington will stage its first concert of the winter on Saturday Jan. 19, conducted by the choir’s newly appointed music director Annetta Whetham.
The 8 p.m. show at Harcourt Memorial United Church is called “Bright Side – Songs of Warmth in a Cold Season.” It will be “a program of songs, spiced up with stories both poignant and funny, that express the need for people to know that there are places of brightness, and spaces that are safe and warm for body or soul,” a news release said. The songs to be performed include the Rainbow Chorus’s recently commissioned work titled Starlight, composed by Mark Sirett with text by former Rainbow Chorus member Van Waffle.
Advance tickets can be bought at the Guelph Artisans’ Market in Old Quebec Street. Visit www.rainbowchorus.ca.
