People interested in starting a farm business can learn more about it at a course starting Feb. 28 at 10 Carden Street.
FarmStart, a local non-profit organization that aims to support a new generation of farmers, is offering the “Exploring Your New Farm Dream” course.
The course, which includes over 12 hours of classroom instruction and a full day of farm tours, runs over five Tuesday evening sessions and includes a Saturday of farm tours, a news release said. There is a fee.
“There are more and more people who are interested in getting into ecological farming, many from non-farming backgrounds, and this is a perfect introductory course for these folks, Ali English, FarmStart’s training and resources program manager, said in the release. “It introduces people to the opportunities and realities of farming and connects them with experienced and aspiring farmers.”
