Thrill the World on Saturday

Erin Lynn Birdsell (front) helps a class of zombie-wannabes, including (back, from left) Victoria Franceschini, Jill Gill and Lorraine Johnston, to learn the Thriller dance in preparation for this Saturday’s Thrill the World event. The dance, set to take place at 2 p.m. in front of city hall, is part of a global tribute to Michael Jackson. Local dancers will join dancers around the world with the goal of having a million people dancing to Jackson’s Thriller all at the same time. About 15 people came out to the Flying Dance Company’s studio at 16 Wyndham St. N. last Friday for Birdsell’s zombie coaching, and there is still time for more zombie hopefuls to learn the steps with a class scheduled this Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Birdsell will also be doing zombie makeup at the studio before Saturday’s event.
